You know I’m on a serious rampage tonight. I’m sick of twitter. Correction, I’m sick of people following me on twitter that have no relevance to anything I talk about or my industry what so ever. I in fact dispise all of the self proclaimed social media parasites who auto-follow tons of people a day to get followers. I’m just sick of it. I am in the adult industry and some of these non-adult marketers have had the unmitigated gall to talk shit about my fellow adult webmistresses who don’t even market themselves on twitter, they use it as a device to actually communicate and interact with people. OMG what is the world coming to where people on the net are not trying to sell you something?
See if you are new to twitter let me run some things down for you… Let’s say that I’m Joe blow social media marketer who is looking to cram a new affiliate product down your throat. What is an affiliate product you ask? Well an affiliate product is something that Joe Blow earns a commission off of for every sale they can generate using their specially coded link that they get from the product company.
Joe blow webmaster then signs up for a free twitter account and doesn’t really have anything useful or relevant to say so what he does is gets a lot of quotes from famous authors or public speakers who are relevant to the products they are trying to get you to buy. Joe then subscribes to any number of auto-twitter programs out there for a nominal fee. Why does he do this? Because it saves him time. It allows him to follow everyone that the program can find and auto-follow him because in most cases those people will follow him back. So Joe Blow webmaster now grows a very fast list of followers, up into the 20,000-50,000 followers in a very short amount of time.
He then auto fills about 30-50 twitter posts a day in his auto-tweet account and sets them to send at short intervals throughout the day. If he’s really greedy he will send about 20 tweets in under a minute, very much like one scumbag who I promptly unfollowed this evening. See let’s just do the math here for a minute. Let’s say for argument’s sake you have 30,000 followers and you send 50 tweets a day. You have now sent out the equivilant to 1.500,000 pieces of spam with minimal effort and minimal investment. Every time you tweet, your posts show up on every follower’s twitter feed. If you send enough tweets in a minute, all of your posts will show up on one person’s feed and knock all of the other tweets further down on the time line.
Very effective spamming techniques wouldn’t you agree? The thing that gets me is these self-rightous assholes look down their noses at adult webmasters and pornographers every day and they openly talk shit about us. But never mind the fact that every webmaster/webmistress that I know has hardly ever sent a piece of spam and they actually enjoy interaction with their fans and friends and getting to know real people. So what I have to say is screw all of you parasites and the real deal is that most of you are slinging porn affiliate links too and wanking your cranks to it while you talk out of the other side of your mouthes. You are what makes the internet an unpleasant place to be because YOU all infect the regular non-adult places with your crap and I’m sick and tired of you all!
